Switching and Input Questions

Post by M3thoms »

Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Please can someone help me to understand how the switching works on these two schematics? So far I understand that the majority of connections at input 1 on the schematics are grounded. One post goes to the plate of V1. A second post splits then goes through two diodes connecting to the footswitch inputs which in turn control the opto-isolators to switch the channels and control the reverb. Do I have this correct? Would someone be able to explain this to me in some greater detail?

Could someone direct me towards some useful reading on amp channel switching designs as I find the schematics very complex to read.

The input jacks do not connect to V1 plate.

Plate looks like a plate, grid looks like a grid, cathode doesn't really look like a cat but they do hang out in the warm part of the tube. I suggest you redraw the schematic in a way that makes sense to you. You might want to draw different versions for each switching arrangement.
