Schematic symbols library for CorelDRAW
Hi, guys.
I've drawn a schematic symbol library in CorelDraw. It has the most
common devices, I'm yet to draw solid state active devices though.
These were all drawn to a .5mm grid which is flexible enough for
detailed drawings yet makes life easy when lining up parts or wires.
I used as a template for the drawing a schematic posted on the web a
while ago for a Vox-ish amp. The guy never answered my question
about how it was drawn.
Many of you guys may not use CorelDraw, but I can send you the file
if you need it. It's not the best software for drawing schems but I learned
a long time ago that the best software is the one you know how to use.

Re: Schematic symbols library for CorelDRAW
Updated with transistors and a few extra components.
Re: Schematic symbols library for CorelDRAW
So what format are the symbols in?
Just seems to be a big GIF image.
BTW, I don't speak Portugese.

Don't let that smoke out!

Re: Schematic symbols library for CorelDRAW
Ok. I bet you can understand the symbols and I also bet you can read the
english in the first post and the title saying it's CorelDraw
(sorry but you walked right into that )
Here's the (zipped) CorelDraw file. I'm drawing my first schematic right
now. Things seem to work out pretty well.

Re: Schematic symbols library for CorelDRAW
If you save it out to a legacy version (v10 or below), folks with Illustrator should be able to open the .cdr docs as well.
Re: Schematic symbols library for CorelDRAW
You need to use real schematic capture and pic a program you will always live with. It will make life easier and quicker. There are some cheap solutions for Mac and PC users. It sure would make layout and sharing a hell of a lot easier if everyone agreed on a program
I like in this order
www.cadsoftusa.com Eagle is PC, Mac and Linux, freeware on schematic 1 sheet and boards free with a limited size.
www.Douglas.com for Mac only (PC version sucks) they will also punch sheet metal. They used to have a freeware version where the boards had to be sent to them (no gerber) but you guys would be fine with printing.
Designworks (schematic only) is free with limitations

Re: Schematic symbols library for CorelDRAW
Why did you use the inverted tones from normal schematic symbols? The lines white and the fill black?fabiomayo wrote:Hi, guys.

Great things happen in a vacuum
Re: Schematic symbols library for CorelDRAW
Yeah, drz400. I understand what you saying. But as I see it, the best software is the one you know how to use. And I'm ok at CorelDraw. With a piece of paper and this file I can draw the complete schem in about 30 minutes. Less, if I use parts of previously drawn schems. I'll take a look at your recommendations. I'll bet they are better than doing it the way I do.
Nitro, I converted it to Illustrator. Corel does save in this format. Don't now if it'll work though. Never used Illustrator.
bnwitt, I just copied the symbols from a schematic posted on the web. I thought they looked good that way I redrawn them in a vector program using the symbols from this one schem as a template and I have drawn the others just trying to keep the same style.
This is no big deal, guys. Just a little work I did for myself which may or may not be useful to others. It's here for the taking nonetheless.

It works, thanks.

But once you use a schematic program that has conectivity (especially to the PCB), Bill of materials etc it is really hard to ever go back.
I used to use Canvas back in the day, same way you are using Corel
