20 to 30 quid, that's what? $40-60?

That sounds better than the $100 that the Gear Pagers were guessing at.

I could actually afford a couple of those at the first price.

Well, we'll see, they are suppose to release them next month.

I'm kind of surprised that there isn't more info out yet about them.
They surely have some made and tested.
Why not more specs and app related info?

I emailed Tech Tube again and this was their reply.

Thanks for your interest in our TechTubeTM valves.

Samples and larger volumes will be available for purchase when we launch the sales part of the web site towards the end of October but may slip into November as we fix the last few minor niggles. Pricing, ordering, shipping and other such things will be on the WEB site as we are not going through dealers or distribution in the initial start up phase. Pricing will be in the region of £20 - £30 per valve plus shipping which we are reviewing now with UPS, DHL & FedEx.

For further information, we are starting with the E813CC, E812CC & E811CC valves this year and then looking to the following: EL34, EL84, KT88, KT99. Which one to start with is still under discussion but we expect to launch in the early part of 2009. An ECC88 equivalent has been requested many times so we are looking to check it’s feasibility with our new triode design.

Once again, thanks for your interest and hope to see you in the shop at some point…

With kind regards,

Andy Blades

KT99 before KT66 seems strange...is that an audiophool tube?

Also what's up with the ECC88? Any guitar usage?

I'm not sure without digging into it.
The European designators are confusing enough without throwing that one in. :D
