Estey Organ Amp

Post by M Fowler »

I recently picked up this Estey organ amp chassis and will probably build a Marshall 18watt tremolo amp out of it. The chassis is long lots of real estate there.

I'm thinking that I will build a 18watt tremolo into this amp chassis. The chassis is wide so it could make a nice combo amp like the Supro style amp in a Reason Amplifiers baby blue cab, nice. 8)

To the moderators:
Where did my previous posts on this thread go? Was there something out of line? I didn't think so. Thanks.

No there was another server crash and the backup is missing a lot of posts.

Really sucks on some of the threads because there was a lot of info lost....

This new server worked great for a few weeks, but now it seems just as buggy as the old one.
Loading errors, debug errors, etc......... :x

Don't let that smoke out!

Dam site knocked me off now I have retype what I just said, crapper.

I finally got back to this project Estey organ amp now 18w plexi used SS rectifier instead of the EZ81 I was going to use and I now have two extra sockets in there, Frankenstein build.

Sounds good but not as loud as my other 18watt amp, maybe I need to go with 8k I think 18w Marshalls use right rather then the Deluxe OT I used and had sitting around.

Oh and that board is Benoit's leftover lamanent and works well using eyelets.

Mark, what's good for the goose is good for the gander....

Nice build. I'm a big fan of chassis recycling. IMO, this one was sweet. Not a lot of obstacles and plenty of real estate. It's nice for weight and balance when you get to put the trannies on opposite ends.

How does she sound? Did that iron come with the chassis?

Phil,

I had all the iron but the OT would not work so I switched out to a Deluxe I had collecting dust not right primary I'm sure so I will get the correct 8K for this. The PT is original and the voltage was good. Can't find my damn voltage chart right now rats. I thought that I had better get the input and out separated so I used the other end of the chassis. I used the existing holes and plugged a few with nylon hole covers from Lowe's.

Lots of room is right. Cab making will be next and face plate time.
