I have an amp in guitar case Silvertone 1457. When I strum a chord it plays fine and then at the end of the sustain in cuts out. I pulled all the tubes and checked them. The first 12ax7 has a problem, Triode-2 tests as NG. Question is: based on the schematic does this amp need both sides of this tube.
Ok, never-mind.... I did have two bad tubes in there, but that was not the problem. I has changed out the speaker connecters to spade type instead of the solder on that was originally on this amp, so that I could drive another cab. Those spades has allowed some oxidation on the contacts, which I cleaned and polished. Its all good now. At least I caught the two bad tubes,
