My '66 Fender BF Dlx Rev is fizzy with OD pedals...?
Exactly that. I have a '66 Fender BF Deluxe Reverb. Its one of my favorite amps in the world. I bought back from a friend and when the amp is pushed with an OD / Distortion pedal it gets a really unnatural, fizzy sound when the pedal is engaged.
Yes, I have tried a different OD pedal with the Fender to make sure it just wasnt the pedal.
Yes, the amp sounds totally fine clean.
Yes, I tried the pedal(s) on other amps.
Yes, it has all new tubes and they are all fine, AND the speaker is fine.
I also took it to the Amp Shop in sherman oaks, ca and the tech basically put some new resistors in with better values and it didnt do $h!t... the store then charged me $188.00 even when they didnt fix my problem which I was explicit and detailed about and... to be honest, I'm pissed.
In any case... has this fizz problem happened to anybody and does anyone know the cause of it or what can be done? I'm desperate. Thanks!

I have an original '67.
One thing I can say about it-it responds to pedals very well.
When was the last time it was recapped?

Sorry about that.... I've seen two schools of retail philosophy ;
The first is what we all end up seeking, where the customer becomes a
natural asset to the store, symbiotic.
The second is where the store looks at the customer a potential percentage
of sales income.
You have to do both, but I like the first better.
Tell the store and track down the tech, demand a positive relationship with
with the place and see what they do.
I've had amps that didn't like pedal's, sounds like he was going after carbon comp.
resistors, bulk film resistors are .01 $ each. I've seen old ceramic caps
make an amp do that. New caps, generic polyester are .25 $.
silvel mica can get pricey 2.00 $ And, old fender amps are like the ford
standard to a tech and if he cant disassemble, service, reassemble, and test
in a reasonable amount of time you need to tell him about the amp garage.

i know how you feel...not fun to be in the dark...
in your situation...short of going at it yourself...i would look for a tech in your neck of the wood, who would understand your dialect and give you full satisfaction.
Experience cost money and time.
Good luck bro!

Sadly, too many of these "amp" techs are actually "repair" techs. They're great at getting it to work (make output), but fall short when it comes to making it work better. To a tech with a TV repairman mentality, if he can put a little signal in the front of your amp and a big signal comes out the back, your amp is working. NEXT!
Some of these guys augment their knowledge with all the latest fads, rumors, and hearsay from the internet, but few have a genuine understanding of what it is we want from our amps. Hi-fi world hasn't helped either. Sorry, I'm not buying $200 cables until they sound at least 10x better than the $20 ones I have now.
In short (I've had a lot of coffee this morning!) it sounds like you've got the wrong tech. When you find the right one, you'll know. Keep him/her!
Good luck!

Sadly I agree with most that was said.
Are you familiar enough with this amp to take a peek to see what the "tech" actually did?
If you are not accustomed to working around high voltage then please don't expose yourself to it. There can be as much as 500 vDC inside.

I know you said the speaker is fine but. Did you try another speaker ?
A 66 Deluxe would be a candidate for a complete Power supply overhaul, as well. Then, I would look for leaky coupling caps and severely drifted plate plate resistors.

Does your amp get fizzy when you crank the volume?
