Design and Construction of Tube Guitar Amplifiers
by Robert C. Megantz and Ken Leyva (Sep 1, 2009)

I know Merlin's site was mentioned but his two hardback books which are for more intermediate and advanced learning are great books and cover a lot of ground.
I think even beginners can glean something from them as well.

You can even read the first chapters online.

I bought my copies at Amazon.

More of Pete Millet's archive contribution here, including the RDH4 for download, a life time of information! I know the link has been referenced before in other threads but after a brief look I did not see it in this one...

Aiken's has been "under construction" for quite some time, but here's a link to his book list: https://www.aikenamps.com/index.php/other-authors

Some goodies there.

mod edit: updated to his book links

TAG Light Bulb Current Limiter

Post by martin manning »

This unit was originally constructed by TAG member rp, and then rewired, photographed, and documented by me. I like this design because it uses standard parts (no metalwork required), and the series-wired duplex outlets let you plug in any sort of incandescent fixture. The adaper shown works for standard bulbs, or you can use a night-light (the old-fashioned kind with a 7W bulb and no auto-on feature) for candelabra-type bulbs which are available in 25-60W. Internal wiring details are in the .pdf.

Edit: Added alternate schematic with on/bypass switching to .pdf.

Hi,

I know this is an old thread gone sticky, but due to the evanescence of the web, well I am coming up with dead links.

Best regards,

you can probably find the manual other places. Here is a bunker link that has the transformers, and new listed info on the old triads. And wow their is some good info in that, and its pages are printable. A wealth of transformer info and numbers ofother models. Many of the brands of the late 50s and 60s. are listed in those books.
