VVR

Post by FUCOW »

Hi
I have a quick question.
Im just learning about a VVR. Does anyone have a layout on one of these things. I have an 18Watt lite that i would like to tryout in it. I have tried a PPIMV but really dont like it & this amp only sounds great is at around 8-9.
I would like the help.
Thanks
Mike

Have you tried the search function? There are plenty of posts already written about it on here and on 18 watt

Go to Hall Amplification for starters.
VVR3 is a single Mosfet voltage regulator.
Simple cathode biased amps can get by with one Mosfet reg.
It gets more complicated if you have a fixed bias amp.

The VVR and PPMV are both good to have. You can back down the grid drive with the PPMV to cool off the "fizzies" at low power.

Enjoy!

FUCOW,

I would try over at 18watt.com as the hall brothers have a lot of information on VVR with the 18w amp there for you to learn from or you could ask either Dana or Rich.

Look for recent threads/posts by WaZaK on 18watt.com. He's been experimenting with various implementaitons of VVR on a Lite IIB, and posting good diagrams, photos, etc.
