Electrolitic capacitor value

Post by toskrlec »

Hi, I have question about C15 and C16 filter capacitors in Express schem.
They are in paralel, and value 40uF 450v. Is it possible to use one 80uF 500V in place of these two ?

I try to avoid gluing multiple capacitors.

Thanks.

I've no schematic with component numbers, but I suppose you are talkin' about main filtering, just after the rectifier. I've always seen two 160u capacitors in series, in Express. You can try a 100u (easier value to find) JJ cap. As before, you'll change the feel of the amp, expecially at higher volumes.
