Silicone coated power resistors....

Post by dehughes »

You know, like the kind that you find in Carr or Matchless amps. I'm looking for something sweet....in the area of 60ish ohms, so that I can run them in a half power switch setting in my AC30ish amp in the same manner as what Matchless does in their DC30. I believe that Matchless and Carr use these resistors, and that they are rated for 10w each, but I'm uncertain as to the model type.

What I DO know is that they are made by Vishay, are dark grey in appearance, and seem to either be the CW or RS series resistors located on pages 1323 and 1324, respectively, on the Digikey catalog.

Your help is priceless, and very much appreciated!

Upon closer inspection of DC30 and HC30 chassis pics, it seems like they are the RS-10 (10w, 1% tolerance) resistors on page 1324. Am I correct in this deduction?

Dude, if I'd been thinking about it then I'd have ordered them from you when I purchased all that wire. I don't remember seeing them on your site...didn't know you had all this cool stuff. :) You wouldn't happen to have a 250uf 100v cathode bypass cap, would you?

Tip - call Steve and see what he has. Not everything gets posted to the web site. For instance, he has more 2W Type J-style pots than are listed.
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...

Yep, I have lot's of stuff not listed on my website.....
Since I don't do my own website I don't want to take advantage
of my friend and keep him busy. Also since I'm a one man
operation it's a lot of work to inventory everything and put
it on the website. As for the pots, yes there are more that
are not listed in the mil-spec type (RV4).
I just ordered some 250Uf 100V caps and are being made now.
Should have delivery 1st week in July.
