FWIW Last month I got a whole 6A14 Weber kit (incl cab and speaker) shipped from USA to NZ via FedEx International for US$190. (I thought that was pretty cheap).

How did you pack it? Road case? Plywood crate, or what?

I'd assume any quality packing job would be ok.

They offer insurance like any other freight shipment company.

The problem with the ata case and crate is the added cost to ship but if the equipment is worth the investment it's a small price to pay for peace of mind.

Pardon me if this is an obvious question. Does it require driving to an airport to use Alaska Airlines cargo? And then the person receiving must also drive to an Airport?
Thank You

Yeah, I have cases for my 4x12's and head cabs, but NOT for the tall bottom cab a client in Sweden wants. Still it might make sense to see what airline cargo costs are to Sweden, just have to decide on a carrier.

I can pack the flying crap (no pun intended) out of the box, but with a cab 36" tall, it would have to be a minimum of 42" with the type of packing I use, and they may want to impose an oversize charge.

But thanks very much for the info, I'll propose that to the client. Fedex International Economy wanted close to $700 (including my packing costs of $40) to ship the cab to Sweden, and that was with a $100 declared value.

LOL, you must know Roe, Thorlief and company in Norway. One of them told me about Jet Carrier, and now I'm checking into that, too. But thanks for the tip!

I'm also going to do a bunch of calling to other airlines tomorrow...Lufthansa, SAS, Finnish Air, etc.
