I remember that thread.

I wonder if my Ironsounds FX Loop reverses the phase.

Do you think it possible to look at the speaker cone and strike a muted chord and visually see which way the cone moves?

Maybe the best alternative to making reversed polarity speaker cables would be to make a small box with a switch.
But then you would have to have either two cables or hardwire a cable to the box so you could plug you regular cable into it.

My high end speaker cable I believe is shielded so I'm not sure how well that one would work with the polarity reversed.

I have a cheap Horizon spkr cable I should reverse to test it.

I always heard not to use shielded cable (at least shielded guitar cable) for speakers as the amp sees the inherent capacitance as a short. Maybe this isn't a problem if you have the proper sized wire.

Yeah, I misspoke.

It is the Canare 4S8 cable.

It has two pairs of 16ga conductors. Each pair is used per side.
The specs say when the two pairs are used it works out to be 14ga.

Non shielded but the pairs are twisted.

My IEC power cord is shielded. I bought it after the talk about the high end power cords were discussed.
I wasn't going to spend $250 on a power cord so I went to Mouser and bought a nice 14ga shielded power cord for $15.....
