Anybody open up a Hotplate???

Post by Deric »

I have a THD Hotplate that was in a fire. Didn't get burned but was rather wet for a few days. Seems to have dried out nicely... Would like to open it up to clean/check the insides BEFORE I try to fire it up. I removed the the screws and the feet - as that's all that appears to hold thing together. Doesn't want to come apart... Any tips

They slide apart. Yours might have melted together. He has some funny silk screening on the underside of the circuit board. Something about "if you can read this", also, If I remember right something about a "divorce". They can get pinched together a bit , might have to pry up on the wrap around steel part.

Billyz,

Thanks! That's pretty much what I figured.

The people at THD told me they could be difficult to get apart. You have to open them to replace the bulb sometimes. Mine was easier that expected to get apart. Everything slid out of the extrusion.
