I think I will start a new post to collect up all the info... How to roll your own... Caps.

If you're going to spend the time, make something that you can make some money on.
Look at the prices Jensen gets for copper or silver foil in oil. And they do sell.
Look at what V-caps are selling for.

I'm pretty good at rolling.

Post the thread.... people will follow. It won't be hugely popular but surely enough to get momentum. The question of rolling your own caps surfaces here and there so there's some interest.

I got my Blues yesterday, ordered on Jan 4.
Good thing we went ahead and built the amp with Mallory 150s in the mean time.

Received notice I could now order what they did not have in stock previously. I'm going to pass.

Think I'll try Jupiter next time I have the urge to go boutique (it may be a while).

I've already made that switch - no regrets thus fartelentubes wrote:Think I'll try Jupiter next time I have the urge to go boutique (it may be a while).
Re: What is wrong with SOZO?
I found a couple '60s amp chassis with blue Moldeds in them.
For the time being I can avoid booteek copies if the pulls are good (they usually are).
This is better for me because most of what I do is rebuild old Fenders.
In cases where I don't need authentic parts I'll continue to use some other modern Mylar film and foil.

Not a bad experience
On 3/29 I ordered some blue caps for a Bassman build, they showed up today.

Maybe there is a turnaround happening with them.
At this point I'll have to hear a whole lot more reports like this to become interested in their product.
