Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

Bill Krichen is the old guy in the pic, anda great player. His guitar was featured in Dan Erlewine's guitar setup book.
Here' a pic of my most unique (odd) guitar, a 69 Musicraft Messenger. It's the same model Mark Farner of Grand Funk used to play.

Here is my Les Paul family. I'm a fan of fat neck wraptails with humbuckers. R4 Oxblood, R7 Goldtop, R4 Ebony.

You certainly have a thing for LPs with a wraptail bridge...sonicmojo wrote:Here is my Les Paul family. I'm a fan of fat neck wraptails with humbuckers. R4 Oxblood, R7 Goldtop, R4 Ebony.

Ain't nothing wrong with that!
Beautiful family!

Alright, I got inspired by the 'Verb and Strat' shot... Here's my version. Not nearly as elegant, but I kinda dig it.

My SG Very Special
Here are some larger pix of the guitar in my avatar.
I built this one from scratch ten years ago, modeled on a '65 SG I had for years.
I wound the pickups myself, the P-90 is the easiest pickup to wind that will sound really really good IMHO.
The S. American mahogany was 30 years old at least when I used it. The Canadian maple top and back came from a 13" x 1" board of similar age. The maple exhibits quilt and birdseye in the same piece, not seen that before or since. Correction: the top is not that wood, just the back. The top is 5A flame maple from Luthier's Mercantile in Calif.
The three veneers you see a detail of in the cutaway go all thru the body. The neck goes almost all the way thru the body, to below the tailpiece. I had the neck to head joint reinforced several years ago with a piece of the same maple, not shown in these pix.

Ya'll!!! Stop posting Les Pauls!!
That is a fine SG you have there David. In your avatar my old eyes never made out the beautiful contours and materials. It's very nice! I knew it was different, just not that nice.

The only guitar I played for 3 years until I swore I wouldn't play a Gibs*n on stage again(I used to be a dealer until they went ape shit).
