Any -= t o o l =- fans here?

One of my favorite bands!

Incredible everything; songwriting, time signatures, dynamics, vocals, artwork, live performances, and especially Tone!

Adam Jones (live)
1 x Superbass (converted to Superlead specs)
2 x Diezel VH4 (Channel 3)
3 x 412 cabs

Our drummer is a big Tool fan. Interestingly he (our drummer) can play that rapid-fire Tool stuff with precision abandon, but he can't play a shuffle or a swing beat to save his life.

Ha, I can relate! I can hold down 5/4, 6/8, 7/8, 9/8 etc like it's free, but don't ask me to swing either. I should get together with your drummer Lou! Some of us just march to a different clock. :)

My drummer is also a big Tool head, he's been playing their stuff for a long time. Danny Carey is a beast of a drummer and I love the odd time signature stuff. I'm not a huge tool fan (Aenima is great, everything else kinda bored me) but I have mad respect for all of those guys.

Lucky for me he can play shuffle and swing beats too, you have to be able to for the blooz!

I was the BIGGEST Tool nerd years ago, but kinda fell out of love around the time of the 10,000 Days release. Not anything they did, just became MUCH more vintage oriented. :D Couple of my favorites are the live versions of Third Eye and Push It. I still feel they've done no wrong when it comes to tracks. Just about every single one I always loved. And for a hilariously more pop oriented song, Maynard's Dick.

For the unindoctrinated, wait till 0:32, dime your monitors, and let your head and neck do what comes naturally.

I like. That's a heavy groove. 6 is good.

Here is a link to Slightly Dirty from Carlton. I like what happens before 1:55 but I really like what happens after.

Oh yeah! Nice... Back in the day, I always thought Carlton and Ritenour together on stage would be a treat. I've kind of 'outgrown' Rit. But this is fantastic. Good things to those who wait (30+ years). :-)
