Doo-doo-doo...lookin' out my back door
Well...not really MY back door...my parents. These were taken during my Thanksgiving weekend...they're just cell phone pix so the quality is low.

And about a 5 minute hike from the front door.

Nice shots!
Sedona, AZ I presume.
Red Rock country.
The wife and I honeymooned in AZ back in '99.
She had never seen the Grand Canyon so we went there, then all the way down to Tombstone.
Beautiful state, in the Springtime.......too darn hot in the Summer!

Yep, Sedona, AZ. It's pretty and all but it's kinda boring. I'm not really into hiking or shopping and there's not much else to do there. I made it a 3-destination trip and flew from Phoenix to Las Vegas and spent three days at Venetian. Lol, I never left the building.
Re: Doo-doo-doo...lookin' out my back door
The thing I noticed about Sedona was that it was pretty upscale.
Even the Burger King was done in a pueblo red stucco!
We just passed through but did go see the chapel of the holy cross.
Sedona seemed like a real artsy community.

They have some sort of LR (Light Reflective) index ordinance or something...they don't want buildings to reflect a lot of light at night. It goes very dark at night there.

Maybe, they don't want to be seen from the Space ShuttleFischerman wrote:...they don't want buildings to reflect a lot of light at night...

I lived a few miles from Sedona for a few years (Flagstaff). Sedona was a great place for hiking, Mt. Biking, Rock Climbing, and the upscale shopping. There are also a lot very cool things to see not so far from there. There are cliff dwellings, meteor crater, petrified forrest, newspaper rock (petroglyphs), and a lot more. There are also a bunch of Casinos, if you're into burning cash and all you can eat buffets
The property that I owned had a great view of the San Francisco peaks and was 2.5 acres away from town. It was pretty cool to walk through the yard and find pottery shards!

The Shuttle(s) and I see each other enough (I work at KSC) so...no big loss there.Maybe, they don't want to be seen from the Space Shuttle
That all sounds cool Dart, I need to check some of that stuff out sometime. But I always tell my parents that hiking is something I only do when I'm forced to...I would never 'choose' to hike...or mountain bike or rock climb. I like outdoor activities that involve water much, much more. I've never done the casinos there either and I like casinos...but I'm well past the burning cash and buffets (I did that too for a while). I just play poker, see shows, and eat at any of the outstanding restaurants...and then get drunk on free drinks while I play video poker....cliff dwellings, meteor crater, petrified forrest, newspaper rock (petroglyphs)...
Oh yea - Buffalo meat is really good...Cactus fries not so much.

Couple of pics with a digital camera (but not a very expensive one). First one is literally lookin' out the front door...second one is a short hike from the front door (it's the same main rock structure...just panned to the right from the first picture and taken from atop that rock just behind the green house in the first picture). It's almost the same shot as the second shot above.
