This is the year before he bought the ES-335. I've seen another cut from '92 with him playing a LP custom with soapbars. This is pretty cool though. You don't need HRM or Humbuckers is you got good hands

Cool links!!! Last Nite has some of my favorite Carlton tone (and playing) ever. It never occurred to me that he might be using the Valley Arts for that. :shock:

Yeah, the first time I clicked on that video I sat there saying to myself, hmmm, he isn't having a very good night but then realized that it was an overdubbed video along the lines of those "shred" videos.

It wasn't as exaggerated as some of those videos and I thought it was pretty funny towards the end when RF is kind of looking at Carlton with a "wtf?" type expression. :lol:
