Re: NGD!
HeeBGB,
I have a Kimber CDP and it's a little big for every day carry. I used to carry my Keltec but years ago switched to a Springfield XDs. Not much bigger than the Keltec, lighter and easier for everyday than the Kimber, and with the laser it will put 7 .45 slugs in the neck at 80 ft.

Re: NGD!
I wish I could carry. Just another 6-7 years and I can move outta here.
Anyway I stopped in at my local shop to look at some 1911's. I don't think the sub $550 offerings are gonna cut it. I did like the Springfield and the Ruger I looked at. Both in the mid $700 range. I looked at a Colt didn't think it was horrible, but also didn't like it as much as the Springfield or the Ruger. I have about 85 days left to make a purchase before the permit expires. I am going to central PA next week for work and will take a ride to Cabellas while I am out there to check out more stuff.

Re: NGD!
That guy is a great shot!
Another consideration for concealed carry is if you do have to actually shoot
someone, you will have to surrender the pistol to law enforcement.
Also you may have to drop the gun when law enforcement shows up.
So I don't carry the Kimber 1911 because it's too pretty.
So many choices of handguns these days.

My friend bought one of those.
Good to see that the 2nd Amendment is alive and ..........
Don't want to start sh!t but, if we don't retain our (everybody) right to....
Well you know.
Now if ammo prices would just go down....

Re: NGD!
So I went with my buddy to look at onethem rugers sr9s he's thinking g about buying it . I made the mistake of handling a cz75 while I was there that had one of the sweetest triggers I ever felt some of the higher end 1911s didn't feel as nice.
So what I need you guys to do is talk me out of taking 600 bucks down there and buying it.

Re: NGD!
I think it is going to be a Kimber 1911. My mother's husband (I guess I should call him my stepfather....kinda weird at 49 years old to be speaking of my stepfather) just got a Kimber 1911 for about $800 which is more than I wanted to spend but it is nice!!! I think I am going to follow suit and get that although I checked out a Springfield and a Ruger and both were also very nice.
At this point I am going to hold off for another month or so. The permit is good for 90 days at which time I can get an extension. After that I think I have to re-apply.

Re: NGD!
Store opens in two hours . I'm not going to go buy that gun even though it has a great trigger (the stock trigger is not usually graet one these) And made holding a Berretta feel like I was aiming aturd .cbass wrote:So I went with my buddy to look at onethem rugers sr9s he's thinking g about buying it . Re: NGD!
I haven't really followed Kimber's 45 line in the past years but the thing I
liked about mine is it has the extended beaver tail, skeleton hammer, target trigger, magazine well relief, adjustable sights, etc.
Basically it came all tricked out.
I see now they have multiple models.
I didn't really like the trigger pull on mine so I contacted Kimber and was told
to go to an office north of me, near Portland.
It didn't have any signage other than the office number.
It was weird, like a secret location. lol
Their pistol smith was there to make the adjustments.
He made it just right.
I also lightly complained about the checkering on the rosewood grips as they
were kind of poor looking, not real crisp if you know what I mean.
So they replaced those as well.
Not sure about how they are nowadays, but they sure took good care of me.
I don't think they're made in Oregon anymore are they?

Re: NGD!
I forgot to say, I saw on Kimber's site that they now have wood looking grips with laser by Crimson Trace.
That is pretty cool!
But I don't see wood like grips at Crimson's site.
You can tack another $400 onto the price of a gun with this laser.
