Tube, kindly keep your hands out of my paycheck. You live in Canada; you obviously like it so stay there.
Tubetwang wrote: If i don't like the universal system, i simply move my ass to a private clinic...plenty of those around...as not all doc adhere to public health...A doctor will make more money working in the private system.
So, let me see if I’ve got this straight, you’re OK paying over 50% of your salary for “free” healthcare but if you feel you’re not getting the treatment you want then you pay more money to go to a private practice???? You are obviously a child who got left behind.

I never commented on your particularly vile attempt categorizing me as the following:
Tubetwang wrote:You are fooled by money, greed ,power, ego and status...

When that million dollar home is paid off, you'll probably want a 100 million dollar home...only makes sense...

You'll be working your white ass off like there is no tomorrow...trying to get to the top of the food chain...

On the way there, you may get burnt out and suffer from depression...

You'll then loose it all and walk the street naked...

Only then will you experience how the poor live...
Not only are you one of the “libtards” who feels the “rich” owe you something, you are obviously racist:

I mentioned in my previous posts that I DIDN’T like being poor so I did something about it. FYI I lived in a ONE bedroom apartment in 1988 which I shared with a roommate. Our rent was $635 monthly (accounting for 4.1% annual inflation that’s the equivalent of $1,439.75 per month in today’s dollars), I had a $330/month car payment and a $300/month child support payment. I couldn’t afford furniture so I resorted to getting a “freebie” sofa from a friend and a loveseat from the dumpster (True story). I didn’t have a refrigerator because I couldn’t afford one. Instead we had a Styrofoam ice chest which was replenished on a daily basis. My coffee table was a wire spool and my bookcases were milk crates. My “net” take home pay was about $1,500 per month. Subtracting out only the above mentioned items (totaling $947) that left me with $553. Out of that residual I still had to buy food, fuel, auto insurance and pay utilities. I was shitting Ramen noodles because it was about all I could afford.

I didn’t like it, didn’t like it one bit so I changed my life by putting MYSELF through college, changing jobs frequently in order to build my salary history and experience, became more marketable and am respected in my industry today. So for all my hard work and effort, I must now be punished by paying more to lazy trolls and crack whores squirting out babies because I’m part of the evil rich?

Did I also mention I paid over $57,000 last year in taxes alone? That’s more than a lot of folks earn ($27.40/hour). I’M NOT BRAGGING, I PAY MY SHARE……

Kindly keep your foolish opinions to yourself, try to get help with your racial hatred issue, stay out of debates dealing with US politics and continue receiving “free” stuff in your homeland.

Hey dude, share the wealth. A chunk of $57k will rent you a nice accountant, that's a hard workin' white collar guy. Between you and your accountant I'd be surprised if you can't find enough write-offs to pay NO taxes. If not... there goes yer street cred!

You may find that the government won't allow a private system. Laws can be passed that tie licensure to participation in the universal system. Black market health care might be your only alternative.

I sleep better at night knowing that I have never turned away a patient with a health problem because they couldn't pay, as have thousands of physicians across the country. Physicians thought about giving and have given away health care long before the government did 8)

Sounds easy on paper Casey but that's $57,000 AFTER my 401(k), the interest on my 2 mortgages, my business expenses and my wifes business expenses...and yes, I employ an accountant - would be foolish if I didn't... street cred is not in danger.

The only way to pay no taxes is to be of highly questionable character. I don't like the tax system but I do earn a very confortable living and have no problem rendering to Caesar what is Caesar's...

Ah. There you have it.

There are of course write-offs available that are legal, ethical and more or less the fast track towards making capitalism work correctly. The way I see it taxes work like any other charity, by the time the government pays their bureaucrats their "administration fee" around $.02 is left to feed the trolls. Gaunt trolls and fat bureaucrats don't match up with my vision of Holiday Cheer. Ideally you can put your money to work, have a positive impact precisely where you intend to have a positive impact and take a big fat write-off to boot.

President-elect Obama and most of the population are lamenting the loss of so many jobs due to the economic downturn. Jobs are important, right?
Jobs are created when one person has enough money to hire employees. As business grows, more employees are hired. Is this a bad thing :?: The successful person who made money passed a chunk (the biggest expense most companies have is personnel) of the money to those employees to provide for their families, who buy cars and groceries and on and on. These are private sector jobs. If we don't want anyone to make enough money to create jobs for others, then who does everyone work for :?:
We could all work for the government– government jobs
Wait...Isn't that what they did in the Soviet Union, that great example of successful socialism :?:
People are different– get over it. We'll never be the same. Some are creative and make opportunities for themselves. Some aren't so creative, but are industrious enough to provide for themselves. Some people provide for themselves and their families by working for the creative and industrious. Some people truly can't provide for themselves (children, the truly disabled, the elderly) and ought to be taken care of by those who can. That leaves us with the final category of those who won't provide for themselves–the INABLE. I'm sorry, but I feel no duty to provide for those who just won't try :!:
The historian, Will Durant, said that, throughout the history of mankind (and womankind-?personkind), productivity follows incentive/reward. If we fail to reward productivity/creativity here, it will move elsewhere, and we will be left to rot in mediocrity.

Public health care will pay up to double AA...
Wif double AA... a girld will be unemployed down in Sherbrooke...

You want tips and bonuses?
I say go for double D's...especially if you thin wasted and tall...

If i was you, Doc... i would'nt openly admit in a public forum that i gave free service to a patient who coul'nd pay...'cauze you could be flooded...er huh...wif patients... would can not pay.

Actually, 'Twang, I was speaking of the medically necessary stuff, not the cosmetic stuff. I can "give away" services if I want. A charge goes into the computer. I just don't get paid :D I Kentucky, we have many people who don't have ANYTHING :( They're not even eligible for Medicaid :!: If it gets to the point that the government wants to keep me from taking care of those folks, they can just take my lily white ass* in jail  Then, at least, they'll have to provide for ME

Now Tubetwang you said you were gonna shut up. It doesn't look like you have.

I tell you what, since you love paying taxes so much, why don't you start lobbying your government to increase your own damned tax burden so you and your beloved socialist state can provide free health care for all Americans too?

We'll drive over, stop at the clinic, the pharmacy and then hit the tittie bars to drink some of your high alcohol content beer before we head on back to the good ol' U.S. of A. Of course, some of us will get popped by the Mounty man and end up donating more cash to your barristers and court system while we're there. We can schedule our future free health care visits around subsequent court appearances. What do you say man, you're a real giving rich guy right?

Oh, and to the poster who mentioned he was reading John Adams, Go read the federalist papers and anti-federalist papers to which I posted a link and you will begin to understand how really intelligent the aristocracy of our country's early days really were. Now remember, these guys read by candle light and didn't have any of the modern knowledge vessels that we have at our finger tips today. They had to dig for everything they got.

Compared to today’s rich….Lindsay Lohan, Madonna, Michael Vic……all rich for silly little idolatry reasons. Need I say more?

You guys equal a loser with someone who don't try...and this is where i think that you are wrong...

Take homeless people for instance...some of them are Lawyers, Doctors etc.

Danny Kirwan who was a great guitarist with Fleetwood Mac went through depression and live in cheap hotels or under a bridge in London...

Overwork folks can have burn-out...be they industrialists, oil mens or plumbers...

I take confort to know that help is there for the folks that are inept...

There is mis-pending and too many chief and not indians... but that is a fact of life with any society...Bailing out Education/Health is fine by me...I wou'ld want to bail out GM but...

I have had a great life, have a beautiful family and am very lucky indeed...

I appreciate to know that our society is moving forward with an universal health care and education system and don't mind being a part of many who supports it.

I think that a healthy population with an education has a good future...

The future Nobel could be be having care in one of our hospital right now...

I don't care if y'all got a big ol' booze tax, I don't go there to drink. I can buy more lap dances wif the money I save!

Now that's a load of crap. Find me one lawyer or doctor who is homeless and I'll kiss you white ass buddy. There may be a scarce handful there due to divorce, but you better look quick cause they won't be in the shelter for long.
Tubetwang wrote:Danny Kirwan who was a great guitarist with Fleetwood Mac went through depression and live in cheap hotels or under a bridge in London...
Many musicians end up that way but not doctors and lawyers. Want to know why? Getting rich in music takes nothing but luck. Most hard working musicians never get rich so I'm not knocking them. If a hard working musician does get rich, he/she usually doesn’t end up like Kirwan due to their work ethic. Danny Kirwan was an alcoholic and that’s why he ended up under a bridge. However, working your way all the way through med or law school takes tenacity in your character that keeps you from being homeless.
Tubetwang wrote:Overwork folks can have burn-out...be they industrialists, oil mens or plumbers...
Well that won't make them homeless. You obviously have had little to no exposure to actual homeless people which tells me that you talk a big charity but you don't participate in one. I guess you placate yourself with your "my government takes care of folks and I pay my taxes so I don't have to get my hands dirty" attitude. It's too damned cold in Canada for homeless people to hang around. Don't mistake that for a working system.

I have served and talked to many a homeless person. They are not Dr's and lawyers, nor are they former pillars of industry (though some do tell wild stories). They are mostly drug addicts and mentally ill people of lower class families. This mortgage crisis has put some average people temporarily into homeless shelters. I have seen this before in my charity work and President Carter was the cause of that episode. I am sure these new members of the homeless community won't be there long term.
Tubetwang wrote:The future Nobel could be be having care in one of our hospital right now...
I guess he/she will be receiving the award posthumously.

Tubetwang it is obvious by your words that you haven't really got a clue about much of anything in America. You should just shut up now before you make a total ass of yourself in this forum.
