Anyone who wants more power can swap their 6v6's for 6550's along with the other appropriate parts to do so! :P

A funny part of this is that I recently (the day before this debacle occurred) mentioned to a friend, who's been a member for a while but doesn't stop by often, what a civil community this place is with no flamers or piddling matches!
I guess it's all my fault for jinxing us by opening my mouth!

I missed all this too. I vote no change. The day it goes to hell we can vote on school uniforms but for now lets run naked and wild like it was internet 1993.

If the priesthood decides on something like a month for edits I'd accept that, though sometimes I find typos and misspellings in my old posts which I hate and fix.

As for info disappearing forever off the web, we should be so lucky.

I'm for no change too. Deal with the odd problems when they surface.

My only reason for limiting it is because I do extensive research with lots of links. I hate it when I return and the post is full of holes. I'm probably just worrying too much.

What about a compromise: allow unlimited editing/deleting of posts that are no more than a few days old; for all others, you can edit/delete them, but only a few per 24 hour period? This would allow necessary, routine editing such as substituting a revised layout diagram for one in an older post without the admins/mods having to get involved, but it would prevent a guy having a meltdown from doing too much damage if he tried to go into "You guys all suck! I'm erasing all my posts!" mode.

i don't know whether the forum software can be tweaked in that manner or not.

No reason to change anything because of one incident of childish behavior.

I think everyone should have the ability to edit and delete anything.

The final battle of good and evil is going down right here on amp garage.

I'm not sure how much you can add or control with this forum software.

Some other forums give the right to delete files to forum users.
But I think you have to do each post separately, no mass delete.
Sure it isn't state of the art forum software but hey, we like vacuum tubes.

Which is better?
Seeing 'deleted' in every post or simply have them evaporate?
Was there that much contributed or was it all blah blah blah?

The questions can be asked and answered again if it is pertinent.

I honestly missed the dust up when it was happening.
It was like rubber necking a crash, trying to figure out what happened.

In hindsight, there could have been action taken but this place does a pretty good
job of self policing.

So this too shall pass. :)

Back to your regular programming.

Oh, I just had a thought. Instead of changing how the forum works, let's institute an enforcement policy. Cbass gets a plane ticket from member donations and kicks the offenders ass. :P Deterrent and ramification all rolled up in one. LMAO. You guys are too serious.
