Hi. I am fairly new to learning guitar. I have been playing acoustic for a while. I think I am ready for an electric guitar. My mom says I can't have one because I am left handed and they don't make left handed amps. I don't believe her. If you have a left handed amp that you could sell, please let me know so I can tell her. Please don't tell me just to play upside down into a right handed amp like Jimi Hendrix. I'm not nearly that good yet. Thanks, KM

Me too... it's really quite simple, build your own amp and reverse the order of the tubes. then stand on your head whilst playng.

I think I remember reading that when Doyle Bramhall 3rd got started, he couldn't find a left-handed amp either.

I'm a lefty that plays righty too, Doyle II was a buddy of mine when we were young dudes, he would teach me tunes and it was nice because it was mirror image (other than being upside down)!

I write, shoot, and most everything else left handed, but play, throw, and bat right...confused. I've often thought about switching just so I can do those Albert Collins bends.

My last amp I built left handed, all the pots go counter clockwise...

I have a brother that is cursed with doing some things left handed.
He plays guitar as well but plays that right handed.
He writes left and eats lefty. Never want to sit on his left.......

Same here actually, my old roommate was left handed but played right handed. I never even noticed it until I just thought about it now, all of his guitars are strung normally but I always called him a freak for being a lefty .

The comment on air guitar reminded me of this, you should see me play tennis and ping pong; we dont need no stinking backhand!

One more interesting thing (well to me anyways); I studied Rangeland Ecology in college, one day in one of my major classes the teacher stopped the lecture mid lesson as we were all feverishly taking notes and said "How many of you are left handed?". Only two people in the whole class were right handed!

Now, working in that field it's amazing how many of my colleages are lefties (a large majority).
