OK, I read through the user guide.
How can I display component values (like 27K) instead of part numbers (like R2)?
ANSWER: edit component and choose "value" from popup.

yeah, it's a one of idiotic things about deploying apps to macs. Always issues with java versions and the way they handle 3rd party apps is just dumb.pompeiisneaks wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2017 11:39 pm BTW in most cases you don't need to use the legacy java, its just mac being stupid, I've found (jschem for example) that you can just right click on the app, do 'show package contents' and find the actual java compiled file in there somewhere and double click it and it will use the latest java. I doubt this version even uses java 6, and would work with 8.

there is Cloud functionality where everyone can easily upload layouts and share with the others. There's no *that* many amp layouts there yet, but I encourage you, the users, to upload as much and help each other.
Adding your own components is not easy, as you need to code them in java. I know it's not ideal but that was the most efficient way for me to do it. In DIYLC v2 I built a whole framework for people to add components described with XML and you know how many were made? Zero

I downloaded the new version a few weeks ago and really like the component template functionality you added! That feature alone makes me think I will probably use it for layouts exclusively now. No more changing every single parameter every time I drop down a capacitor or resistor!

I'm a semi proficient java dev and took a look at that link and it seems doable, but yes I agree, it takes coding experience to do. Maybe I'll find time between this site, work, and my own amp builds to play with it a bitbancika wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2017 11:51 amyeah, it's a one of idiotic things about deploying apps to macs. If you are missing some components take a look at the current list of requests and feel free to add if not already there

that's my work queue, although I've been super busy last month or two.

glad you like it, I put a lot of effort into that one. I also find it very useful. My plan is to include a few templates for commonly used components to save people time, but I can't get time to do it. Maybe I could ask the people for helpMakerDP wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2017 3:56 pm I downloaded the new version a few weeks ago and really like the component template functionality you added!
