Checkin in to say hello

Post by Emohawk »

Hi all. New member here. I've been building amps as a hobby for a few years now, primarily kit-based but I've done a couple that were more DIY. I have a dozen or so under my belt - the last being a Hot Cat 30 NR "clone" (which has become my go-to amp). I'm not a tech or an EE by any stretch but it's a great hobby (a bit expensive, but fun none the less :)).

I have three builds in the works right now - a '59 Bassman, a Bluesbreaker, and a Rocket-inspired build...which lead me here. Lots of great info to be had. You all have done a bang up job documenting the TW gear. Many kudos!

This will be my first 'Wreck-ish build. I'm not gonna claim my amp will be a clone - I will say "inspired by" Ken's work. If I was that brilliant I wouldn't be doing this for a hobby. :)

Welcome! I like the people here so much that I just read old threads to see what all I missed before I got here!

Good folks, fun times, serious knowledge and talent. Serious.

Welcome to the club Kirb.
You have come to the right place for Trainwreck heads.

Kind of strange to have a forum covering Trainwreck and Dumbles but they are both great types of amps and fun to build.
By the way, we do talk about other amps, really we do.....

Don't let that smoke out!
