Free recording software?Success!Clip added

Post by cbass »

Off work early today.

I want to make some soundclips of my amps and be able to add my guitar parts over backing tracks.
I'm running windows 7

I have no idea of where to start.

My recording equipment consists of a cheap mic.

It needs to be free.A trial version or something would be fine.

+1 for Reaper! They give you the software/license for free, they just ask that if after your "evaluation period" you decide you like it and are going to use it, you send them $60, which I think is very fair when you compare it to other similar software. I def think it's worth checking out.

Well at least it was good enough that someone recognized a song.

Such is recording.

The mic is a proxy ear that hears only the thing you don't notice, and ignores everything you like.

Try moving the mic back, and forward, and aim it at the handle, The side, the baffle in a corner.. all over. You will find a neat place. It doesn't sound bad to me. I expect it to sound like that.

;)

Its pretty cool the effects you can add actualy sound pretty good well except for the wah.
I haven't had time to mess with it much.I'll get my 14yo to play we'll record some of my bigger amps.Don't know if my crappy mic will handle them.
