No it doesn't. When the light hits it and the angle changes, all the gold particles sparkle with the slight chatoyance of the wood through the amber tint. Better than I'd hoped it come out.
Above is the back, the initial experiment with the gold. I decided to tone it down for the front.

These were after tint and the first AquaCoat application.

Yessir! Curly mango binding. I have a facebook page for them . KW guitars I've built around 15 of them in different styles. This was my first time for abalone. It really dresses things up and is not any harder to work with than wood marquetry.

I think he's referring to the headstock inlay or logo, which IMO is superb. Well, actually the whole guitar is superb.

Mea culpa. It is a superb guitar. It was this reference to wander off this fine forum into a hellscape down below --

Don"t be scared!

The headstock is a simple decal I put on all of them. I bass player friend designed it for me.

This guitar is...silly. Harley Benton DC-Junior. I paid $204 delivered. Then I put in a Fishman Fluence P90 and locking Grover mini tuners. I also sanded the logo and paint off the head stock. It's lovely! Sounds GREAT. Neck and fretwork are very good. Weighs only 7 pounds.

I've been hearing about them lately, super cheap, but wondered about the quality. I've seen some that I'd 'think' about getting... maybe :D

OTOH, Phil, I also tried the Harley Benton Fusion III. Has all the specs of my nice Kiesels: 24 stainless steel frets, roasted neck, etc. However, the Fusion III was too heavy (over 8 pounds), the nut was cut very poorly (way too high) and the overall feel was sub par.

Good to know. Yeah for me there's a couple I'd debated. The Les Paul copy they called the single cutaway or SC and/or a f hole style tele. But I am not sure I'm in the market for more guitars right now anway... or so I keep trying to convince myself :D
