How's your Beatles repertoire? At my wedding the music played in the church included "In My Life," and "Here, There, and Everywhere."

My brother-in-law did Springsteen's "If I Should Fall Behind" at mine.

"In My Life" might be the most appropriate song ever for a wedding.martin manning wrote:How's your Beatles repertoire? At my wedding the music played in the church included "In My Life," and "Here, There, and Everywhere."
I'd probably stay away from an acoustic version of Billy Idol's "White Wedding."
"You are My Sunshine" is nice with a slowed down tempo.
Another great one is Iron and Wine's cover of "Such Great Heights":

Don't know if you do any classical stuff, but a beautiful piece and not that hard to play is Romance by Anonymous:

It's in Frederick Noad's "Solo Guitar Playing" page 210.
Narcisco Yepes plays it way too fast for my taste. Noad says it should be played at a moderate tempo, bringing out the melody notes.
This guy manages to slow down occasionally

Slow down fellows, it's not who finishes first!

How about "Baby I Love Your Way", and maybe get the groom to sing?

Fun stuff guys. I'll take a look at the suggestions.
Acoustic set all playing no singing required.

In that case I might try to come up with a folksy or classical sounding arrangement of "White Wedding."M Fowler wrote: Fun stuff guys. I'll take a look at the suggestions.

If they have an open bar, just take full advantage of it, and you'll think of something to do:

Re: What music to play at wedding?
Some standards included in my wedding sets, that are recognizable and fun to play are... In my Life (any Beatles), Fields of Gold, The way you look Tonight, Two Sleepy People, Over The Rainbow, In Christ There Is No East Or West... I like to slip in Ry Cooder's "Tattler" if it seems appropriate.
Re: What music to play at wedding?
There's always the Canon in D (transposed to C). With tempo changes it turns into "Hook" and 20 or so other songs. Kind of obvious, I know.
