Metal triangle picks

Post by Reeltarded »

If you are in a music store and you see they have those fat sided Dunlop stainless triangles shaped like slightly smaller Fender triangles (not the flat sided ones, the ones with a radiused flat) please tell me. Dunlop still lists them but they never arrive and remain on backorder from everywhere for over a year. I lost my last one in a washing machine mishap or something. I found every sock match lost to laundry though, my washer has a sock skimmer with a hopper at the rear I never noticed.

I will trade sock matches for stainless triangles.

Lefty, I have your knee high rainbow wombat awareness sock. Will trade for BBQ by email. Downloadable pork is part of my broadband bacon strategy.

The ones I am looking for are heavy and do not flex even a little bit. Just if you notice, tanky!!

Yes, if you pile them together and convert them into metal triangles.

I use Dunlops with a custom profile too. I was being smarmy.

Do not limit yourself to what others think is reasonable or possible.

This profile. These are textured and not worky for me. I am used to natural finish. I drop the textured ones when I palm them. heh cause Imma dipshidz.

Now that I think of it...I had a brass pick back in the late 70's.
Too clanky sounding so I did not keep it.
I think.
Might be in a parts bin.

If you come across that I would be honored to carry it another 30 years. Trade ya something pretty too. You name it. That sounds epic even.

:)

I have the original Dunlop old style JIII tortex pick I bought umm like around 25 years ago. George. He doesn't get much use these days. I keep him with my most sentimental treasures, besides my friends I guess.

What a HELL of a day.

I just showered in a driving rain. It came down like buckets so I grabbed a bar of soap and a towel. Awesome.

Not sure of the vintage status because I have hundreds of Tortex picks.
The small green Jazz III Tortex pointy is my current favorite.

I like them worn down so I don't have to replace them very often.
Helps that I don't put them in my pockets too.
I tend to carry picks in my mouth!

When I say "parts bin"...uh well just like the rest of us that is a dangerous proposition.
What I used to be able to categorize by year has now enveloped itself to fall into quarter-century bins!
Yikes.

Weather?
Brilliantly sunny, and then a 3" monsoon in 10 minutes, then back to sunny.
Nearly every day.
The garden loves it, the grille doesn't.
Used to be like that in Phoenix too.
We'd keep the grille under some kind of patio cover.
Here, I have an open deck...

Don't look for it on purpose. If it pops up put ot to the side and we'll make a big deal about it. :)

Looked in my "Picks" bin.
Found some interesting artifacts including a half dozen "Training Wheel" Stylus picks.
Those things are still very pricey!

I have a little wooden pick someone gave me a while back that works great on acoustics for a really full tone. I have a couple agate picks around and a sheepdip of purple Tortex standard profile picks that I cut to a very fine point so the attack is instant and off the string for the majority of my electric playing.

If I could even find one of the metal picks here I would be ok for a while. They just vanish. No give and brilliant for perpendicular attack on very fast stuff. Bet ya I will find one in a pile in a box in a hole at the bottom of my stuff...

-keeps singing-

There's a pick in a pile in a box in a hole in the bottom of my stuff! There's a pick! There's a pick! There's a pick in the bottom of my stuff!

Hope you find it!
Even if I found that one...it was thin.
It had "give" like a standard Fender Medium.

I think I had an aluminum pick once a long time ago.

I used Tortex green .88mm for years.

A couple years ago I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try a couple Gravity picks.
Chris used to work for V picks but the owner moved to the east coast so he started his own biz.
I was given a few V picks and always thought they sounded clanky on the strings.

Well now I have my favorite pick of all time, the standard Razer.
Sort of Jazz shaped in 1.1mm.

Mine are a clear red.
They wear very well and I haven't actually worn one out yet.

Email Chris to receive a free sample of your choice.

Mmmm, that red razor looks just like the Jazz III's.
What's different?
Material?
