Moving in June
On June 4th, I'll be moving permanently to Loveland, CO, just north of Denver.
After 33 years in Florida, it'll probably take some getting used to

Re: Moving in June
No more palm trees, vicious hurricanes, palmetto bugs (giant flying roaches for those who haven't met 'em), etc. Start stocking up on long underwear, scarves, knit hats & boots. Other than that you're going to a mighty nice spot with a lot a mountain scenery & fun of all sorts. Try your water skis on a mountain - might work but better add some poles. So . . . what brought on this major change of location?Ken Moon wrote:After 33 years in Florida, it'll probably take some getting used to

Re: Moving in June
I finally retired, and my son lives in Denver (he's a bud-tender supervisor at a large growing facility). He goes snowboarding every week.
My wife and I have visited several times, and wanted to live closer to the mountains than Denver, so there would be more trees and not so much brown.
We found a house for sale 2 years ago and bought it, and we've been doing fix-ups ever since. It was built in 1924, and it's half the size of our Florida house, but perfect for two old hippies (now that it has a working bathroom)
I may be having a garage sale of some of my bigger saws and such, but I still plan on building an amp or two a year to keep my mind active.

Have him send me the rejects & I'll make sure they're disposed of properly. It will be awhile (probably another 50 years at this rate) until NY follows Colorado's leadership. Drat.
Good on you. Sounds like a terrific plan! I am totally envious. Put green smiley thing here.

Thanks for all the good wishes, guys
btw, here's a pic of my son in one of their 12 flowering rooms (they've got 230,000 square feet now, and can't expand fast enough to keep up with demand - and it's all perfectly legal)

Congratulations on retirement and moving to new digs!
A former bandmate lives outside of Denver (we're both from Georgia). He loves it there. Enjoy!
