Been playing a lot of Beatles lately. And George too, his solo work is a lot of fun to listen to.

For sure it is. When the new stuff came out a few years ago I was stunned. Check out Baby You Can Drive My Car... You really can hear more cowbell!

Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

I think it's difficult (if not impossible) for most guitarists to underestimate the "name brand" guitar players out there, and even the fantastic obscure ones. There are plenty of fabulous players veritably unknown to the general public.

Johnny Marr
Tom Verlaine
Richard Lloyd
David Hildago
Mike Kineally
Sean Ashby

Now I've got to pull out my Tom Verlaine stuff. Love him.

Thanks for the reminder RCGPNY1 - Terry Kath - big +1 !

On the first Jethro Tull album, Mick Abrahams. He split & formed Blodwyn Pig. I liked his guitar style in both bands. Hard to find since then, he's @ 71 and makes a rare public appearance from time to time.

Does Tom Verlaine's voice sound like David Byrne? Just asking.

Terry was a great guitarist, no doubt. His fat, tough lines sound so good against that horn section. Terry was an awakening for me. I'm a guitarist, so I might not have the right perspective, but Terry is not underrated in my book.

Underrated would be someone like me...or you. :P

I saw CTA's first tour at the Fillmore east (with Buddy Miles Express and The Mothers of Invention...wow). Terry sounded like anyone he wanted to...made his Strat and SG sound outrageous with his Bogen pre-amping his Dual Showman. His vocals were quite outrageous too..Now that I'm thinking about it..Peter Cetera was an excellent bassist..people tend to dismiss him as a "pretty boy" , but he was up there with the best of 'em.
Tony Hicks of the Hollies is greatly underrated....Drake Levin of Paul Revere and the Raiders(check him out on Lee Michael's first album) Sammy Hagar, Steve Stevens...
