It's not you; it's the dumb shrew! He picks prices with a dart that he threw!

The more my gear becomes worth, the less I like it.

I couldn't agree more. It's bullshit.

I got 1500 for mine.
For a pedal I did not use.

Remind me not to buy anything from you. Just kidding in case it wasn't clear.jelle wrote:I got 1500 for mine.

You *could* have saved yourself $500.
Re: Klon at at steal
Man, that's crazy for a couple of op amps... oh yeah, buffered input too...
I'm in the wrong business for sure.

I have half that much in Steve Marriot's 1957 LP Custom, if you don't include the extra $100 I had to pay him for the middle pickup.
Stupid.

There's an interesting interview with Bill Finnegan - http://www.premierguitar.com/articles/2 ... l-finnegan
I guess every once in a while, he'll produce a brand new Klon Centaur and give the proceeds to help a close friend (single mom) make ends meet.
Interesting read!! I like his pedal! Unfortunately, like many things out of reach for me, I have replicas.

Those things have been cloned to death.
Re: Klon at at steal
Plenty of shootouts on the tube between klon and the $66 EH soul food where it's hard to tell the difference.
Many pedals it's cheaper to buy an affordable version than to build when it's all said and done.
I sold all my pedals except for a 30 year old cry baby, and a $40 muff clone. Two of the pedals I sold and it paid for a modeling amp that has on board effects that sound better than the well regarded (thought not overpriced) pedals they replaced and then some.
I have a $500 rig to play out that sounds ridiculously good, and I can leave the heavy expensive and sentimental valued gear safe at home. I picked up the cheap stuff for various reasons and it's become my #1 because it flat works.

I picked up an EHX Soul Food for $65. It's mid-humpy. Definitely puts the guitar out front of the mix. I'm going to try it out live for solos. Would I like a real Klon 15-20x more? Not bloody likely, mate.
