I loved that place! My Aunt Alma lived at the corner of E46th and Waters for years. We would drive down from Charleston to visit her and we would go there for lunch. I had heard from multiple sources that it had been burned for the insurance, that was a sad day!

I didn't like William's, their fried shrimp was greasy as hell. My wife's favorite place was the Crab Shack out on Tybee.

As to my Red Neckism, I take that as a compliment.... The country folk that lived out there in rural Richmond Hill were genuine, much unlike the Savannah Blue Bloods who looked down on everyone. If you weren't born a rich Savannahian, you weren't shit to them.

All of which is why I was happy to move back to Texas, where people are truly friendly with no pretense. Dallas excluded...
