Muscle Cars?

Post by Structo »

Any car buffs here?

I was always a Chevy guy but when the new Dodge Challenger came out,
I thought, man that is good looking.
Really kept the vintage look with a modern twist.

Not sure what year this one is but how about 350+ hp V8, 6 speed paddle shift auto or stick shift.
And still get 25mpg or so, if you keep your foot out of it.

I have had this wallpaper on my PC a few years now.

Used ones are still up around $25-30K depending on the model.

Look up Dodge SRT Hellcat

So for now, I can dream.

Currently I have a 1997 Camaro R/S limited edition but have owned some fine American Muscle cars: 68 Camaro, 69 Firebird, and 68 GTX 440.

Raced my 72 Vega 350 Chevy which was a fun build. Had several T-bucket rods I built from frame up.

I've had a few. Had a Chevelle SS, Z28 and so forth. But I ended up with these. I ended up selling them both.

I'm currently driving a Japanese "hot hatch" Mazda 3 MPS. Was really thinking over buying an 80's Trans Am a little while ago (bigger deal here in Oz than for you guys in the US), which was one of my favourite 'dream' cars growing up. Then I saw the prices of new production muscle cars that are looking to come out here. The Mustang is due here later this year. A lot of people are hoping others will follow. Bummer for the guys who have imported and done the RHD conversion with an all up price tag of $100k. But great for us who would want one of these new for a price that's competitive with other larger cars in the market. My favourite shape that I'd probably jump at is the Camaro. But that Challenger looks fantastic too. Don't like the shape of the Mustang or the new Vette so much.

My youngest son called today and wanted out of his Hemi powered 1928 Dodge 3 window coupe project so I bought it. :)

Both 1973? I had 1972, 1978 silver anniversary, and 2002 Z06. Used to go to Carlisle a bunch.

Yes both 73 L48's. Auto with air. The yellow one always had issues. Steering was never straight and very loose and had bad brakes. Orange car was perfect. Wish I still had it.

Eventually I want to build a Factory Five 818

My all time favorite car is the 1969 Z28.
You could get a 302 ci that revved north of 7K rpm but they had a habit
of blowing up if you missed a shift.

How about a 396 SS Z28? :D

Or.........

In the 60's people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird , and they take Prozac to make it normal.

Yea it's a kit but not a clone of another car like the cobra kits they sell. I love the Cobras but this is a lot less expensive. The 818 is built on Subaru Impreza donor gear.

Is that a kit or an original with flared fenders? Not that it matters. It's still cool as shit. Nice one Dana

It's a kit but it was a turnkey that was built on a custom tubular frame at the factory in 1988. Porsche never made a 356 with flared fenders and even if they did I couldn't have afforded it LOL I'm now in the process of installing a new red leather interior and new German canvas top. Just got one more door panel and the top to finish up.
