Oddly enough, I never owned one piece of Peavey gear. I always thought it was crap. No love lost here.

Not a fan here either but just hate to see another US icon move off shore.

Hi,

I am sad to see this.

My TG raxx was apparently used by a respected UK jazz guitar player called Ronnie Jordan (RIP) on an album or two. Sounds good with two amperex branded 1964 Mullards. Into a classic 120 6L6 power amp with adjustable bias it is sweet.

I also have two of the old 3u CS power amps designed by Jack Sondemeyer (RIP) that are well regarded in certain circles.

Here in Europe "made in Mississippi" just seems so much cooler than "made in China"

Take care..

Wierd, who knows what to believe these days in regards to Peavey. They have gotten a lot of bad press lately after the Undercover Boss episode a few months back.

PV was if I'm not mistook, Mississippi's biggest employer for some time. Now that honor (?) will go back to the prison system. Yes, employees are at fault, for being Americans and needing adequate paychecks.

Got my PA off the ground many years ago with CS800 and CS400 power amps. Plenty of power, tough to damage, had that DDT limiter that kicked in at the last watt & kept things sounding smooth like a rhapsody.

Sad story.

I still have my first CS800 power amp in my PA rig and it has never failed me. Has worked for 25 years without any problems.

I bet new china models won't last half that long...

I still have an old Peavey Century solid state amp.

Haven't used it in years but I'm sure it still works.

The early PV Bandit was a really great ss amp. Maybe the later ones too but I'm just familiar with the early ones. The T40 bass was also quite fine.
