From Tesla to Black Holes

Post by Structo »

After reading a recent article about Hawking's thought to harness the power from a black hole and use it on earth, I thought of Nicola Tesla.

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/stephen-hawkin ... nd-1541716

Nicola Tesla claimed that there was free energy in the "air" that could be used for electrical power distribution.

He had a station built in Shoreham, New York at Wardenclyffe he called the "magnifying transmitter".

There were claims of thunder when his machine was operating.

I know there are some real smart guys here.
I was wondering if any of this is true or is it BS.

Tesla had hundreds of patents to his name.
Many mysterious.

Rumor has it all his papers were ceased by the US gov't after his death.

Do any of you believe there is "free" wireless energy to be harvested from our
environment?

Can you imagine the impact on fossil fuels and petroleum companies?

Lots of conspiracy theories about all this.

I'm not very knowledgeable about Tesla overall (except for the cool Tesla coil lightning generators).

But I do remember reading that the Qi standard for wireless phone charging is based on Tesla's invention of wireless power transmission through inductive coupling. Don't know if that's just marketing BS or if it's true :?

Maybe the free energy idea is to tune the receiving coil in Tesla's setup to pick up stray something-or-others that float around all around us.

Or not.

Well that's the theory, that he could pluck energy from the sky.

I'm sure anybody over 50 remembers the stories of the 300 mile per gallon carburetor that big oil
buried to preserve their marketplace.

And the cars that can run on water.

Just like UFO's there are a lot of theories and a lot of bull.
(nice to see more disclosure regarding UFO's)

I think induction is probably the right word for how Tesla thought he could harness energy but we might never know what he had up his sleeves.

He famously defeated Thomas Edison regarding DC and AC power transmission,
with Edison electrocuting an elephant to prove how dangerous AC was.

George Westinghouse came to back Tesla's ideas to promote alternating current for home use and transmission of power.

Tesla was wrong.

He was smart. He was wrong. There is no differential without a lower ground state. I dare you to collect virtual particles. Call me.

Isn't any wave traveling in any medium "free" energy if you can capture it and convert it into work? Solar, ocean waves, EM waves?

Thermodynamics isn't going to let us get enough local power from thin air to power our battle cruiser. ('s parking lights)

Sure Tesla was wrong about a lot of things . He was pretty much a nut job by middle age but the world needs nut jobs working on impossible things. There is know denying that his work on Ac induction motors and wireless changed the world .

We are spoiled by our experiences with energy density, we are also delusional about where invention comes from and how does stuff do things and junk.

Theory is only our best tested idea, today. Everything else is bullshit and lo-fi sci-fi. Noise as heat as an expression of the second law. hehe

We all live with the expectation of another day after today.

How quickly that could evaporate in an instant due to a cataclysmic disaster.
Be it an asteroid or some other catastrophe that affects the whole world.

I liked the quote by President Ronald Reagan when he said,

"“Perhaps we need some outside universal threat to make us recognize this common bond. I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world.”

Terrorism wouldn't matter a lick if we were faced with a threat that involved all of mankind.

Anyway, too much introspective from little old me.....

I saw a theory a while back ( on the interwebs so it MUST be true) that Tesla fired off Wardencliff in a test and by coincidence The Tunguska event happened in Siberia. I haven't checked the dates to see if they mesh up, but you know if it was on the internet it has to be true.

I bought a pair of shoes from a drug dealer the other day. I dunno what he laced them with but I’ve been tripping all day,
