The Hiraga is dual Mono => Stereo and application is for driving the L810s to sonic nirvana.

The Computer Audiophile server with the special (SOtM USB EXP) USB-card is IMO better (for lack of a better word) than any CD player I've heard (so far). A good baseline for Hifi Components sound quality is whether or not it makes you wanner hear your whole music collection all over again.

BTW last week I build a Line preamp for my setup. The design is another super simple vintage hifi design, Kaneda, which uses 2 fets and 3 transistors per channel and sound really tube like. Cymbals never sounded better on my humble system.

I should probably settle on my present system, but I would like to build a Marantz 7c clone - maybe buy one of the many preassemble (moddable) pcb/kits of ebay. And still have 4 pcs tranformers laying around craving me to build a Dual 2xKT88/6550 or El34. Too bad the winter is coming to and end ...however, means I've got a nice project for next winter season. :-)

All this stuff you're doing is very cool, thanks for sharing! I'm still taking in the CAPS concept, really intrigued with everything but it's a bit pricey. Can you point me to a power supply and a house for a Hiraga project?

Re PSU for the Hiraga, I'm following the ordinary route alone the lines of this: http://diyaudioprojects.com/Solid/Jean- ... Amplifier/
For more insspiration/background info check: DIYauido.com is a good source for Hifi DIY: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/solid-st ... class.html

In terms of parts for the psu, i've bought the following:
Caps: 6 pcs 100,000uf caps: http://www.ebay.de/itm/152384377503?_tr ... EBIDX%3AIT
Resistors: 2x 1 ohm/25w resistors for the psu....still considering the use of chokes in the psu instead of resistors. However, I'll start with the resistors.
Transformer: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00MWR ... UTF8&psc=1
Rectifier: I'll use two pieces of https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00CFS ... UTF8&psc=1

For cabinet I use an old amplifier case with large heat sinks as side panels (that has had many 'lifes' as 200w class ab / "GB150 Skimply Killer" etc).....so I'm covered.
If I had to buy a cabinet i'd probably go for something like this: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Douk-Audio-Alumi ... 1983124270

However, thats just me, maybe I'm too conventional in my thinking and choises of cabinet design. Why not go a little crazy like this: http://twogoodears.blogspot.dk/2014/01/ ... olume.html

Looking forward to hearing what you route you'll take!

BTW If I should 'upgrade' from the L810 to other speakers, I'd build something like this a la Altec Voice of the Theatre A7: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-wa ... nsing.html

That's a humble wish - shouldn't be out of reach for too long
