I Do NOT want to work today...

Post by Bob Simpson »

Bad attitude and headache at the same time...

I've only been at this job for 5 months, after being laid off for 6 months, and I already am having problems getting with it.

Not a good sign.

That is all.

Case of the RA... Raw A$$. Solved by quitting early and catching either fish or a buzz.

Sorry to hear of this, Bob. What are you doing for work?

Or a fish and a buzz... Although the fish is hard to keep lit...

Hi Tony,

I'm a junior league software developer.
For the last 35 years...

I have stayed the course.
It seems the end is the same as the beginning.
Except my bosses are younger than I am now...

Only another 6 years to go.

I built that door. I've been on a roller coaster every since. Some months I have lots of work others not so much. I'd say, be careful what you wish for. I've been at it, just entering the 14th year. I'm closing in on retirement age. I'm not eager to look for a regular desk job at this stage.

Bob, just hang in there. The power of positive thinking is not overrated. Also, the ability to let go of stuff over which you have no control is important, too.

I'm going through the same upheaval Bob. My new manager is 12 years younger than me and wants to restructure our team - starting next month. Yay! :-)

I too feel your pain. My job used to be very technical. Now it is 10% technical and the rest is meetings, email and CYA. At least the end is in sight. Being debt free has opened up options for me. I highly recommend it.

Thanks, guys.

Sometime it just gets to me.

You'll have to explain that debt free thing to me.
I'm all ears... and thumbs... mostly thumbs, I guess...

Good Luck Bob.
Getting close here too. Seems like every year I work, retirement gets 2 years further away. Oh well.
