Site work over the next 24-48 hours

Post by Allynmey »

You may experience spotty connection to Ampgarage of the next 24-48 hours. We are working to upgrade the site and have Google release the bad listing...

Earlier test was from iPhone, and I'm still not getting a warning that way, but I am getting it at home on my Mac.

Seems to work for me okay on my mac (safari'n'll) - In Safari preferences, I have unchecked the 'Warn when visiting fraudulent websites' checkbox under the Security tab.

Just curious, is the site work finished? I wonder how long it takes to remove the site from the blacklist. I imagine it could take a couple of days/weeks. I'm still getting the badware warning on Firefox and Chrome.

I've kicked off the first step of this, it's doing database back end work so things may be a touch slow for the next few hours.

Basically we've got to update to phpbb3 first, to get on later versions of the forum code, and then we're going to aggressively try to get into why it's listed, We can't find any malicious code on the site, but I have connections that may help me get someone to stop the auto blocking going on, that or get more information on why it's being hit.

I found out about this excellent site from members at el34world.com and as a linux nerd systems engineer i figured i could assist at getting it cleaned up.

Hey rogb, it's coming along pretty well so far, I did a test on my own server and everything seemed pretty well handled, we'll see how this goes, I'll ask a few people to go over to that site and see what's what, its a clone but to newer software version, and then if that looks good, we'll repeat this process with some site down time so we don't lose any posts.

Update is complete, if a few people could login to:

ampgarage.com/newforum/

and play around, that would be great, please post feedback, here on the old forum.

It's up, but will start losing any posts here, its just to confirm it seems like we've lost nothing. If that's good then some evening soon (maybe tomorrow night) I can do the maintenance on the site so it's 'down' and comes back up as the same 'forum' as before but with the new version.

Let me know if you see issues.

Looks awesome Phil, easy to read and not too different from the old software.

Works fast too!!!

The search function wasn't working but I guess you know that.
Great job so far 8)
