I really love that old stuff. It's just loaded with character.
I've been to the Sun Studio. (but not in the control room)

That was great. Man those vocal's through that old RCA sound amazing. I really like the open and spacey sound that comes with using only one mic. Just a fantastic sound overall.

It sounded good wish I could hear it in person.

I have plans to build some rack equipment.

Got everything for my LA-2A optical compressor build coming soon.

Nice! I'd love to have gear like that one day. Be prepared to roll some tubes to find some quiet ones, thankfully it uses types that are all readily available.

Thanks for posting, Mark. I rebuild a lot of those Altecs... 436Cs, 1567As, etc.. Ampex stuff too. I love the way those things sound... Gotta dig out my monster build and get it tuned up.
