I had one of those sit up and think realizations today.

I realized that now (2017) is separated from the design of many of the amps we revere - early 60s Fender, Marshall, and Vox - by the same amount of time that elapsed between the American Civil War and World War I.

It struck me as profound.

The way time changes things can seem bizzare sometimes, and how some things never change is even weirder.

Interesting anecdote, thanks!

It is wild...I recently bought an old console radio that is from 1942 (75 years ago). Shortly after I bought it, it hit me: I wonder how many crowded in front of it to hear news of WWII? It's amazing the stuff from then that lasted. It's somewhat foreign to me, as my generation has grown up with mostly consumable electronics (just throw it away when it wears out). Really mind-blowing.

My FB post said National Kool-Aid Day. Is that too obscure a cultural reference? It is not a reference to Jonestown.
