Cherry and zebra 1x12 cabinet

Post by xtian »

Friend asked me to make a cabinet to go with this Humphrey amp. Went out and bought some nice boards, joined them to make 10" widths, and knocked this baby together in...10 hours. Takes a long time to make one-offs, doesn't it?!?

I used my laser engraver to write my logo and details on the rear panel. Sealed with five coats of gun stock oil. Eminence EM12 for clear and clean sounds. Nice heavy package. Sounds great!

That looks really nice! Cabinet making is one area of this hobby I really want to
get into more. But, it also seems to be an area with lots of expensive tools! :)

Sweet work. The amp and guitar aren't too shabby either.

The EM12 really sounded solid and uncolored. I liked it. And it was only $100 from cedist.com!

At the risk of being taken to task for asking, will someone please explain the secret ingredient for going through CE Dist instead of the retail channel? $100 is unobtainable at retail.

Call and ask. Years ago, they were pretty lax, I just had to say I was an amp manufacturer, and show them my web site.

I had to have a legitimate business, which I did, but you could also maybe get away with an email address vanity domain that sounds like an official company? I can't remember if I just had to have a valid email domain or give them some kind of proof of a business.

Had to provide sales tax form from my state to open business account, but that's up to CEDist or Mojotone, Triodestore and others.
Some companies are just based on quantity of purchase for 3% discounts etc.
