Beautiful guitar. Maybe he'll sell the Dumble since he's evolving to lower gain.

Interesting stuff.

Yeah, great guitar for sure. There is an Anderton's video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sS0wfdj3DiQ) where Robben discusses his Seymour Duncan custom shop MJ wound humbuckers, The Eclair, as well as the acquisition of that '59 reissue.

Dave,

that's a different guitar. That was 2016, the one in the new video link is an old 54 I think he said, that's been rebuilt like a 58/59

Really nice conversion. Why would you dump Dumble to get a better clean sound? :)

You could tell he was looking for a way out of the Der Führer discussion. Those are hilarious clips though.

I'd seen that "tone is in the hands" skit before. Robben was a little off on the details, but had the basic idea and was making a point. He does seem to believe that at least some of his tone comes from his amp and pedals, though ;^) This is the one he's referring to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwEsjN6BEaE

The guy is just consummate. I thought this was a great interview and even more insightful because he seemed relaxed and more open. De Fuhrer bit was hilarious and yeah, you could feel the tension in the room. You can tell he has a great sense of humor. He is also a fantastic instructor.

I wonder what we might see in the future for a lower wattage amp? He always sounds fantastic through a Twin or Super as well.
