It's a good thing I'm getting old. It's likely I can manage with what I have. The younger ones may need to get used to solid state.

There have been at least a couple of ventures trying to launch tube (valve) manufacture in the West, but they have failed. Remember Blackburn? There was a great deal of hype about a launch that never was. https://audioxpress.com/article/the-tec ... ube-design

Others tried to revive Brimar... https://brimaruk.com/about-us/brimar-th ... -products/
Dare I say, It looks like there is an active store at that URL. Are they selling something we don't know about, or are they selling foreign glass with a counterfeit stencil?

I hope Putin hols back on plans to take Slovakia again. The west needs to find the old hardware and talent to do it again.

That's interesting, I'd be curious to know what the reason is. It doesn't seem it would be for lack of sales or excess environmental concerns? I'm sure it's a high upkeep cost with minimal room for sales/profit growth though.

I'm sure that is a political decision taken by someone who's incompetent in that matter and just overlooks that ancient technology, in contrast.
(but maybe the factory was simply needing a costly makeover ...)

Who's right?

nothing wrong with the FETs, and there are VFETs hidden on the market 8) and we are back to transistor amps loaded with output transformers

The China factory may not be done, it's just that the government does not want it rebuilt where it was, also if IT was given the green light today it would take 2 years before the first tube shipped out again!

This is my understanding of the situation.

You can read this : https://guitar.com/news/gear-news/panic ... alve-amps/, but as far I am concerned, shutting down the factory for any reason means done.

In China, hard to disagree. Still, the glass is half full.

The factory was not simply closed, it burned down folks!
