Harry's Open Pit BBQ was my lunch spot 2x a week when I worked down the street on Ventura Blvd. in the San Fernando Valley. Like the location mentioned in the link below, this one was located close to lots of rock and jazz clubs back in the day, which for me was 1974-about 1980. They had a grill in the middle of the small dining/order pickup room. Used to get a 1/2 chicken, overcooked corn on the cob (yeck), great potato, mac or green salad and white bread for $3.95. Chicken was so good no sauce was needed, but the ribs were also killer. One of the few joints that forms the lore of my youth!
