Behold! - The Hellcorder

Post by Stephen1966 »

In a world of smartphones, smartwatches, smartTVs and smart things generally, arrives a man destined to forge his own path. Nestled, we imagine, in the seclusion of a Scandinavian wood, where wild deer lift their heads to pause their grazing in curiosity and birds take to the sky in a symphony of flight at the strange new sounds emanating from a log cabin in a clearing, is a man who has redefined the guitar amplifier. A man, some might say, untouched by the modern world. A man, some might also say, who is too smart for his own good.

His invention, the “Hellcorder”, is an amplifier, the likes of which has never been heard before. This is not an amplifier for ordinary musicians. This ‘beast,’ as he describes it, is probably not for any musicians born today. In fact, it is probably not for any music that exists today. It is the blue sky, forward thinking we have only previously dared to dream of. With its unparalleled tone and remarkable signal to noise ratio (about 50/50) this amp has an ace up its sleeve, doubling up as a free percussion section on the side. No more need, many of you will be relieved to hear, for a drummer in the band. Articulation is incredible, the notes will penetrate to the depths of your soul. The tone will make your ears bleed. Girls will spontaneously combust on the dance floor.

So, forget Dumble, forget Fischer, forget Leo, and forget the signature sounds of Eddie Van Halen, Robben Ford, Jon Bon Jovi, and Jimmy Page because, apparently, he did.

This, this gift to humanity, this genius of a man, this god of guitar amplification is what YouTube was invented for.

Are you ready?

I watched this a few days ago and thought about buying a recorder to see if I remembered claire de lune.

The unmellowtron! I'm retired and don't have that kind of time on my hands.
At least it doesn't make banjo noises.

That was awesomely hilarious.

The kazoo one he did (The Heaviest Metal Amplifier video) actually creates a usable tone. Like....very niche but I could see it being used somewhere.

If it was polyphonic it'd be more usable.
