Easy way to make a chassis

Post by Phil_S »

I saw this today and thought it might be of DIY interest. He makes a jig for 16ga steel boxes without a brake. I imagine it would work equally well for aluminum. You'll need some shop equipment, but no specialized tools. If you intend to only do it with aluminum, probably the only power tool you need is a wood working circular saw. A table saw would give better accuracy for making the jig.

Well... that's a useful procedure.... making the tiny grooves where you want to fold is a very good idea.. steel or alu is just the same...
Cheap or home made brakes will almost always have accuracy problems.....
But of course... take your time, be accurate - or make a really good and accurate break.. 8)
