This is so awesome

I mostly like bluegrass ' old timey folk gospel and country/rock but this is obviously superior and the only thing I'm listening to from now on.

Reminds me of the Russian math rock bands I listened to ten years ago. Penguinsmeat, Too Far West is East, etc.

The visuals are far more disturbing than any sonic stimuli present …

the early 90s were obviously the peak of aesthetic sophistication .

Anyone else ever wonder why Robert Fripp always looks like he’s sitting on a sewing needle? Like a high school math or science teacher who took up guitar .

Anyways , the playing is great , I just have to poke fun

In the 90's one of my frequent flyer customers was School of Crafty Guitarist instructor Matte Henderson, living at the time in rural territory north of Woodstock and Bearsville NY. Some outta this world playing out of him! Had I been in the right place at the right time, could have met up with Crafty boss Fripp and the Crimsos of the period as they were rehearsing and recording in a Woodstock studio. The EP VROOOM came out of that.

Same time period the Crafties put on a show at a local club, with about 600 in attendance. Didn't use the big humpy house PA, instead a pair of JBL Cabaret 2x10 hi packs and a little subwoofer. Covered the room perfectly well. 13 students plus Fripp played fascinating music the likes of which could only be experienced at Crafty headquarters in West Virginia or similar live shows. All had the same model Ovations, tuned Fripp style in open fifths, low pitch being C if I recall.

I saw King Crimson and the California Guitar Trio do a show at the Paramount Theater in Denver, CO in 1995. I found the set list in the concertarchives.com website.
It was a fantastic show.

https://www.concertarchives.org/concert ... o--4621918

I got introduced to Crimson by one of my Dad's friends who lent me a stack of vinyl albums to introduce me to some "good music" (my Dad had been doing that my entire life as a violinist). The stack included Led Zeppelin, Zappa, Crimson, and some other bands that didn't stick out to me like the other three did. Fripp is as enigmatic as they come. You might agree that there is often a balance (or imbalance) between technical skill and groove when musicians play, and Fripp's sense of groove is definitely there even if it is mostly esoteric. This type of music runs deep in the arteries of 70s-80s-90s progressive rock and has influenced countless musicians, even if few can bear tuning their guitars to fifths.
Just plug it in, man.
