I'm not sure what that means? I sure wish I was a better talker. I'm totally comfortable in shop/jobsite situations office situations are weird. The lighting is all wrong. I'm not sure what people do in there all day

Good luck, dude. You'll get it. Just be yourself. Just remember, if you think it might be inappropriate, it is. Today's workplace is NOT like the workplace we all grew up in, nor are the coworkers what they used to be. Now there are cry rooms and gender neutral bathrooms

Why does everyone seem to think I'm gonna do or say something inappropriate? 🤔

I looked at jobs all over the country. I was kinda shocked to find construction jobs in California didn't really pay much more than here.

Then there's this job. I was wanting to move south. It don't pay much but I would probably do it fir a season.if I was young and single

Still haven't heard back from them. He told me he would let me know something at the beginning of the week. It's Thursday now. I guess it's safe to assume I didn't get it.
Just as well. I guess.
I'll have to be taking care of my wife after her surgeries and taking her to appts. Wich is a 4 hour round trip. The job is a 2 hour round trip in the opposite direction. So it probably wouldn't have worked out Anyway.
We have to go to another neurosurgeon today because the insurance at her new job just kicked in and doesn't work with the hospital she had her last back surgery at. So basically the last several trips have been for nothing.

Hang in there for a reply. It's commonplace for everyone's word to really mean nothing now. Next week Monday means whenever they finish and are ready to tell you.

Turns out I'm unhireable guess that's why I've always been self employed.
Don't have the education for fancy positions. Over qualified for lower positions.
There's very few jobs here that demand any kind of craftsmanship. I applied at a factory cabinet place. They literally want totally unskilled people.
I got a call back for a job in Fairhope AL .I'll just rent a place. If I get it .
I'm telling family they can come with me if they want either way I'm out of here.

There was a recent southpark where all the handymen were getting rich and white collar workers were loitering in the home depot parking lot trying to barter their services for those of people with practical skills. Knowing how to do tangible things in the world still has value, it's just hard to compete, short term, with people who pretend to know how to do things.

So I literally just got an email from the first job I interviewed for. They said they are still very interested in potentially hiring me but are taking more time than usual to make a decision due to restructuring.
Not sure what that last part means?
