Salary for touring guitar techs?

Post by aab0mb »

Anyone have an idea of pay rates and per diems these days?

I’m looking at 2 guitarists and 1 bass player. 20ish weeks per year or around 80+ shows.

I’m assuming pay should be adjusted with consideration for three players instead of one?

No idea, man. But I'd be asking, "Where do I sleep?" :)

It's none of my business but I'd be curious as to what that job pays. I'm not a guitar tech btw

This is where I've always gotten per diem rates, typically depends on where it is, takes into account local cost of living.

Afraid I can't help with salary part.

Having done government travel for decades I can tell you in large cities the listed hotel rates are low. The hotels accept them, if they are contracted with the gov't, but that won't apply in your situation.

Is one of the perks of being a touring guitar tech that you get to throw TVs out the hotel window?
