Anyone tried stem cell therapy?

Post by cbass »

We'd really like to avoid anymore back surgery for my wife. Been reading a bit about it. Sounds like Colombia is where a lot of athletes go to get therapy. I've always wanted to visit South America anyway.

Apparently they use umbilical cord cells. So we're ethically ok with that.

Dan severen the mma fighter said it did nothing for him. Don Frye said he went there in a wheel chair and left walking on his own.

I had an employee go to Mexico for a stomach restriction surgery, he came back with an infection that put him in a wheel chair and took 18 months to walk normally again. The infection ate part of his cervical vertebrae. I know it's not the same type of treatment. Stem cell therapy is fascinating on paper, just make sure you find a legit provider and clinic to be treated in. Tough since there's no international recourse if something goes awry. I would proceed with caution.
Just plug it in, man.

It just sounds too good to be true. I know Colombia has some good Dr's. Either it's somewhat legit or it's a billion dollar scam.
They do stem cell treatment In the states but we are way behind because of restrictive legislation. It's been around a long time now.
They do the same therapy all over the world. Europe Korea Isreal etc. It's just expensive to travel.

Id trust about anywhere More than this hospital. You don't even want to get me started on that. I've seen everything from people nearly dieing from their appendix rupturing even though they went to the ER twice. To killing diabetics cause no one was giving them insulin. To declaring my first wife was faking her illness when in fact she had brain cancer.

That sounds like a horror movie. How long ago was that?
An infection can happen with any surgery but thats very concerning.
I've actually dealt with a neurological specialist from Colombia and his team and I was highly impressed.

It's pretty much impossible to find good info.
Jack Nicholas had his procedure done in Germany they used his own fat for the stem cells. I read one article that claimed that's the only way to get live cells and all the umbilical stuff is a scam.
Harvard University claims it's all a scam but they have zero credibility with me.
I haven't found any horror stories just people claiming it did nothing for them.

It happened over the last two years or so, starting in 2022. Brutal.

Stem cells are super cool, but they're only as useful as they are compatible with the target tissue type. The umbilical cord blood usefulness is highly debatable. Who knows if those frozen cells will be viable when unfrozen 30-40 years or more down the line? There's no study with data on that, I don't think. What cases did the Columbian neurologist share with you that related to your case? What were the results?

Infections are verboten. Of course they can happen, but they shouldn't, and you risk losing everything if it occurs.

Good luck! Meanwhile, enjoy that possum!

I'm sorry. I wasn't very clear. The dr from Colombia had nothing to do with stem cells.
It was something from years ago with a case of a paraplegic cancer patient.
Colombia just happens to have a stem cell treatment center there.
I guess it's like saying I know a guy from California and he's cool and smart so everyone from California is cool and smart.

I forget exactly where I read it, I think it may have been something by Dr. Edward Group, that a two week water fast has the same effect as $250,000 worth of stem cell therapy. I try to do it once a year, and I'd say it helps with my overall issues. I haven't had stem cell therapy to compare it to though. Anyway, something worth looking into and make your own decision on. Though I do find that the health care industry tends to emphasize the "industry" aspect these days and denigrate anything they can't make money off of.

A two-week water fast is a two-week period where your intake consists of water only. It promotes a lot of things, good and bad. If you can accomplish a state of ketosis, you'll lose a lot of stored fat. But mostly, starvation weight loss comes mainly from muscle digestion and autophagia, essentially eating yourself on the cellular level. An expert could say how stem cells participate, that wouldn't be me. But imagine how good the possum would taste after two weeks of abstinence? Would you even have to season or cook that f7cker?

I have also done a two week whisky fast. It promotes a bloated, angry liver. I do not recommend it.

As far as stem cells, fasting shifts your body to produce its own stem cells. I forget exactly how it works. One benefit here is that your own stem cells will work for you, while someone else's are a real hit or miss proposition.

AFAIK and have read, there is only one scientifically verified means of reversing aging , and that’s fasting. Worth a consideration in any regard .

On another note , I just shared this vid in a different post , and it also a subject especially worth investigating for anyones overall health : gut health

https://youtu.be/qqabbfk9wV8?si=tAP0_dMq9a_w8oLc

For back pain specifically I know a few who have had remarkable turn arounds with Human growth hormones, but I don’t know much beyond witnessing their testimonials.

Haven't watched it yet but we eat lots of stuff that helps with gut biome fresh milk qnd yougurt keifer sprouts fermented stuff that I don't know whatit is. I'm sure we could improve our diet but I dont eat anything with high fructose corn syrup try to limit sugar. We don't eat much store bought bread or store bought meat for that matter and lots of fresh eggs fresh garden veggies and stuff we can.My biggest weakness is going to the country store to get some flour or something and walking out with a spicy chicken sandwich with bacon and probalone cheese and tater wedges. Been trying not to that but damn they're good
